How to deal with the rainy season

What is a southerly day?

A southerly day is a unique weather condition in the southern coast, especially in Guangdong and Guangxi, when the temperature warms up and the humidity rises sharply, causing a return to dampness at the turn of winter and spring.

When the weather is 'southerly', the air is nearly saturated with humidity and everywhere is wet: soggy floors, dripping walls, foggy window panes .... It's as if the air is drenched in moisture!

How shoe and clothing companies can cope with the return of southern weather

① Monitor the roofs of offices, workshops and warehouses for water seepage, leakage and accumulation, and deal with them promptly.

②Check the drainage facilities in the factory to ensure that the drainage equipment is intact.

③Ensure that doors and windows can be fully sealed when closed, and install curtains to block the intrusion of outside water vapour if necessary.

④Keep the factory floor dry and tidy, and do a good job of preventing moisture on the floor; if necessary, use hot salt water to mop the floor to speed up the evaporation of moisture.

⑤ Take appropriate stacking measures according to the nature of the materials; place packages and finished products at least 60cm from the wall, 15cm from the floor and 1m from doors and windows, and use plastic pads or place them on shelves; seal unused packages in good time.

⑥ The placement of raw materials and semi-finished products, in order to avoid being rained on or soaked, the area where the materials are placed should pay attention to the seepage of water from the roof and external walls, and do a good job of checking for water accumulation and cracks, and deal with them in a timely manner.

Dehumidification method

Intermittent ventilation method: open windows and ventilate on sunny days to accelerate the rate of water evaporation; on cloudy days, only downwind doors and windows need to be opened to reduce water vapour into the room; (morning and evening air water are relatively large, it is not recommended to open windows;)

Use of dehumidifiers: dehumidification/moisture control work needs to be carried out promptly if the humidity is above 60%.
